Llanwrtyd Wells is the smallest Town in U.K and it is the gateway for the Wild and beautiful Cambrian Mountains, yet close enough to the Brecon Beacons. An ideal place to explore Mid Wales with easy access to the Coasts, Lakes/Mountains and Towns. The Cambrian Mountains is not a National Park but an area of outstanding natural wild beauty for all to explore and enjoy, With Activities such as Walking, Mountain Biking and Horse Riding You can even bring your own Horse or Dog on Holiday too. Why not try Wild Swimming in the nearby Wash pool (formally a river for washing the Sheep). Or simply take quality time, relaxing with the family and admiring the wonderful views and sounds.
Llanwrtyd is ideal for visitors to the Royal Welsh Showground near Builth Wells You will not find High Street Stores in Mid Wales so why not take the opportunity to explore the old Market Towns such as Llandovery, Tregaron, Builth Wells, Rhayader and Brecon.

Llanwrtyd was originally translated from Welsh as “bridge over the ford” but later known as “Church on its own”. There is so much to do and see in and around the Llanwrtyd Wells area at all times of the year such as visiting, National Trust Country Houses & Gardens, Old Chapels, ruined Castles, as well as the old market towns, Dams, ruined Abbeys, Antique centers andCraft shops. Tracing your Ancestors is also an interesting pastime.
Throughout the year, there are many events in Mid Wales such as the legendery Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, Green events, Food festivals, Equestrian shows and the Builth Wells Welsh Cob Sales. The nearest railway station is in Llanwrtyd Wells, a 2 minute walk from the Hotel. There is an incentive for those who wish to reduce their carbon footprint by traveling this way.
